Why is this course important?
The Management of Health and Safety at Work Act 1999 places a duty on all employers to assess the risks of the workplace and put in place appropriate control measures.
Risk Assessment course outline
A practical 1 day workshop giving the confidence to conduct your own risk assessments.
- Accidents – Causation, statistics and their use, accident reporting, investigations and accident prevention strategies.
- Risk Assessment Theory – Definition of hazard and risk, risk evaluation and control measures to reduce risk, written requirements and use of checklists and other documentation.
- Group Practice – Delegates will undertake a risk assessment of an item of equipment to consolidate what they have learnt. A practical on-site risk assessment is undertaken from the working environment and where practical the company systems and paperwork will be used.
