Opportunity
The role(s) we are looking to recruit for is within our technical department as a junior technical engineer at Shawton Energy, the role requires base knowledge of electrical / building services engineering.
The primary role will be to assist in developing concept solar PV and electrical designs, taking these through to construction level designs. Initially being office based, there will be scope to attend sites to gain experience and knowledge so driving licence would be beneficial.
Average day will be assisting in the production of electrical and solar designs to enable pricing and installation on site.
As the business grows we will be looking at alternative renewable technologies when these become available.
Design work will involve;
PVSol software design
Autocad design
Monitoring of online platforms for existing assets
Close liaison with other members of team
General admin support for ops / technical team
Junior technical engineer role has the ability to grow with experience into technical and senior technical engineer positions naturally. However also opportunities to support the operations teams with project and commercial management aspects to gain further experience.
Entry Requirements
English, Maths and Science at a Grade 4/C or above (mandatory)
Pracitical subject such as engineering (desirable)

Training to be Provided
You will receive full onsite training to be able to carry out this role.
Periods throughout apprenticeship, there will be opportunities to shadow senior members of business as well as undersite hands on site experience will installation teams.
Things to Consider
You must be able to travel to both Waterside Training Ltd (St Helens) and Shawton Energy (Newton Le Willows) to carry out your academic qualificaitons and on site training.
Apprentice will be expected to pass driving test at earliest opportunity, as travel to sites would be required later in apprenticeship

Future Prospects
After the completion of your apprenticeship you will be qualified as an Electrical Design Engineer with qualifications in Design and Electrical Engineering.
